The Top 2026 Prospect for Every MLB Team

Farm systems never stand still. Draft picks sign, international free agents debut, prospects get traded at the deadline, and — most disruptive of all to a "top prospect" list — the good ones simply graduate to the majors. That churn is exactly what's happened already this year: reigning No. 1 overall prospect Konnor Griffin (Pirates) and top hitting prospect Kevin McGonigle (Tigers) both opened the year atop the game's rankings, and both have since graduated off prospect lists as they've established themselves in the big leagues.

Below is the current No. 1 prospect in every organization, based on the most recent complete team-by-team breakdown available. Rankings can and will keep moving between now and the trade deadline, so treat this as a snapshot rather than gospel — but it's a great cheat sheet for anyone building out a "future stars" section of a collection or just trying to keep track of who's coming next.

AL East

Baltimore Orioles — Trey Gibson, RHP A power arm at the top of an Orioles system that's leaned heavily into pitching depth in recent drafts.

Boston Red Sox — Franklin Arias, SS Arias has climbed the ranks quickly this year, passing several higher-profile names on the strength of a strong statistical season.

New York Yankees — George Lombard Jr., SS The son of longtime MLB coach George Lombard, he's the headliner of a Yankees system that's much deeper on the mound than up the middle.

Tampa Bay Rays — Theo Gillen, CF A toolsy outfielder who's held the top spot in Tampa Bay's system consistently, a system the Rays have built largely around premium pitching depth beneath him.

Toronto Blue Jays — JoJo Parker, SS Parker has moved into the top spot as fellow Jays prospect Trey Yesavage graduated to the majors after an eye-catching pro debut capped by a strong postseason showing.

AL Central

Chicago White Sox — Caleb Bonemer, SS The centerpiece of a South Side rebuild that's been almost entirely built through high-upside draft capital in recent years.

Cleveland Guardians — Travis Bazzana, 2B The 2024 No. 1 overall draft pick remains the headliner of a consistently deep Guardians system.

Detroit Tigers — Max Clark, CF Clark moved into the top spot after McGonigle's graduation and remains one of the more well-rounded outfield prospects in the minors.

Kansas City Royals — Josh Hammond, SS A steady presence at the top of Kansas City's rankings all year, without much shuffling around him.

Minnesota Twins — Walker Jenkins, CF A former top-five draft pick, Jenkins has held down the Twins' No. 1 spot as one of the more complete outfield prospects in the sport.

AL West

Athletics — Leo De Vries, SS Acquired from the Padres last summer as the headline piece in the trade that sent Mason Miller to San Diego, De Vries has already reached Double-A at just 18 years old and is regarded as one of the most talented all-around prospects in baseball.

Houston Astros — Kevin Alvarez, CF A big, young left-handed hitting outfielder with real raw power who's climbed the Astros' rankings this season as that power has started to show up in games.

Los Angeles Angels — Tyler Bremner, RHP The clear top arm in an Angels system that's been retooling its pitching pipeline.

Seattle Mariners — Colt Emerson, SS A sweet-swinging shortstop who's remained atop a Mariners system that's produced the most Top 100 prospects in baseball two years running.

Texas Rangers — Sebastian Walcott, SS A big, physically projectable shortstop with standout raw power, Walcott has been a fixture near the top of the sport's overall prospect rankings.

NL East

Atlanta Braves — Cam Caminiti, LHP A left-hander who's held Atlanta's top spot throughout the year in a system built heavily around pitching.

Miami Marlins — Thomas White, LHP Widely regarded as the best left-handed pitching prospect in the game, White anchors a Marlins system that's gone from one Top 100 prospect a year ago to five today, largely through aggressive trades and drafting.

New York Mets — A.J. Ewing, CF Ewing has climbed into the top spot as an outfielder who could take a real step forward if he adds more lift to his swing.

Philadelphia Phillies — Aidan Miller, SS A steady presence at the top of the Phillies' system, a group that's gotten a boost this year from a strong crop of pitching behind him.

Washington Nationals — Eli Willits, SS The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft, Willits has held down the top spot in a Nationals system also fueled by trade acquisitions like Devin Fitz-Gerald.

NL Central

Chicago Cubs — Pedro Ramirez, 3B Ramirez has moved into the top spot this year, passing a talented group of shortstops and pitchers in a system that's gotten deeper up the middle.

Cincinnati Reds — Alfredo Duno, C A steady No. 1 in Cincinnati's system, which also features an intriguing group of shortstops behind him.

Milwaukee Brewers — Jesus Made, SS One of the most talked-about prospects in the sport, Made has already reached Double-A as an 18-year-old and anchors a Brewers system widely regarded as one of the best in baseball.

Pittsburgh Pirates — Seth Hernandez, RHP Hernandez inherited the Pirates' top spot after Konnor Griffin's graduation to the majors, leading a system that also features power arms like Bubba Chandler and Hunter Barco.

NL West

Arizona Diamondbacks — Ryan Waldschmidt, LF A steady presence atop Arizona's system, which is otherwise stocked with middle infielders.

Colorado Rockies — Ethan Holliday, SS A top-five pick in the 2025 draft (and part of a well-known baseball family), Holliday headlines a Rockies system also built around a strong crop of young pitching.

Los Angeles Dodgers — Josue De Paula, LF A left-handed-hitting outfielder who's remained the top prospect in a famously deep Dodgers system even as the big-league roster keeps graduating talent.

San Diego Padres — Ethan Salas, C A catcher who returned to the top of the Padres' rankings after Leo De Vries was traded to Oakland in the Mason Miller deal.

San Francisco Giants — Josuar Gonzalez, SS A shortstop who's held the top spot in the Giants' system throughout the year, ahead of first baseman Bryce Eldridge.

Rankings reflect the most recent complete team-by-team breakdown from ESPN's Kiley McDaniel (updated through early June 2026). Prospect lists shift constantly with promotions, injuries, and trades — especially as the July trade deadline approaches — so check in periodically if you're tracking specific players for a collection.
